I had decided to go into stealth mode a few months ago and keep my discoveries to myself. There were a number of factors involved, including a disappointment that some seem so attached to their opinions they get mean when information proves their theories misguided. Also I was disappointed that I seemed to be making no headway in enlightening others with my discoveries.
I am beyond some of those feelings now, and hope to use this forum as a place to publicly put forth what I am learning just to see it in print, with the small but real possibility that it might be read by others. Going public with one's thoughts I believe creates a sense of responsibility to be as lucid and organized as possible in what one puts forth.
I recently, a few days ago, discovered via the BioLogos Foundation website, a video series by Gordon J. Glover. Glover has a 16 lesson video series on YouTube which you can find here: http://www.youtube.com/glovergj. A fabulous set of lessons detailing how creationism and a young earth belief is damaging the Christian faith. I highly recommend it. Another website any concerned Christians ought to be be watching is http://biologos.org/.
My reading list currently is Francis Collins, "The Language of God," "GOD According to God" by Gerald Schroeder and soon I hope to read "The Engineer in the Garden" by Colin Tudge. I read Dan Brown's "Lost Symbol" while on vacation in September. A really good book, with the best ending to a work of fiction I have ever encountered. And in reading since grade school days I have read a lot of fiction. Used to go through about 6 books a week at the public library.
So if you've come to see what I am into these days, you'll find it here. I read when I can, but work intervenes not only working hours, but recovery hours. 8 hours on hard concrete floors becomes more difficult the older one gets. I am going back to one of my favorite haunts this coming Thursday with my dear brother Arnold. Not a physical brother, but as close as I have. This trip we are going to limit our exposure to the National Archives. I think as an American I need to view some of the documents that has made this country the greatest on earth.
Stay tuned.
